Find out your baby’s gender
At the Original Window to the Womb, we can find out the sex of your baby during a scan that is performed to check that your baby is healthy.
This is called a Gender Scan.
The earliest time we can assess the baby’s gender is at 15 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy. More details below on this.
Can my gender scan be sooner than 15 weeks?
Baby is not full formed until 14 weeks so anyone that can advise from an ultrasound at this gestation is not going to be as sure as they can be and give you a reliable gender prediction.
Yes they are right 50% off the time but 99.9% by waiting just a few more weeks for baby to be fully formed.
UK Gender Scan: Sneak a Peek at baby’s gender
Our Sneak a peek gender/sexing scan is available from 15 weeks and 3 days. At this gestation we are looking at millimetres so have to be able to check from various different angles to reproduce the gender image.
Nobody can give you 100% as ultrasound simply isn’t.
We however, like to be as sure as we physically can be without holding a baby out in front of us.
Your 12 week dating scan will be able to accurately determine your due date and this is the one we work from.
We do Gender Scans using GE Voluson
Gendering baby before this gestation is not accurate and gives you only 60/40 unlike our accuracy of 99.9% scanning over 90,000 babies since 2003.
We determine gender by using the very latest GE Voluson S8 ultrasound machine.
Find out the sex of baby with a Gender Scan
To find out the sex of baby, 2D is always the most best way. It is possible to see gender in 4D later on into your pregnacy, but 2D is far clearer for your sonographer and yourselves.
At all our scans we will guide you thru what we look for, explaining the difference between the three white lines of a little girl and what a boy image would look like. The umbilical cord is always a factor as well as position of baby.
The nub theory is also as it suggests. A theory! And again the angle of the dangle is not enough for you to start painting the nursery or being able to confidently tell people or go shopping.
We also do a lot of Gender Scan reveals
People choosing not to find out in the room to celebrate with family and friends at a later date is also something that would be great to incorporate.
We have gender items such as balloons, canons and pink and blue heartbeat bears that can all be made up to take away with them on the day.
